All eyes on the prize as Mark O’Hara lines up Derby Day delight for the Dees

With Dundee defeating Cowdenbeath at Central Park, it has left BetFred Cup Group C with a final day showdown between the Darks Blues and their City rivals…and Mark O’Hara is hoping to continue their 100% start to the season with the Premiership on the horizon.

Speaking to Tay FM after yesterday’s match, O’Hara said:

I think after Saturday, tonight, we got back to how we want to be playing. The manager is a lot happier today; 3 goals in the first half, we kind of blew them away a bit and even in the second half, it was a professional performance. Now we just need to try and continue that this week.”

Talking about the difference in performance between the Buckie and Cowdenbeath matches, the former Kilmarnock player said:

We let a few people down with our performance on Saturday – the manager has drilled it into us that he is expecting really high standards this season and we can’t ever let them slip, especially this week with the game on Sunday: I think it was important that we gained some momentum again tonight ahead of Sunday.”

The victory was courtesy of a hat-trick by new signing, Sofien Moussa. Speaking about the Tunisian, the midfielder said:

I don’t think you can get a better start than that, I would be surprised if somebody has done as well as him when joining a new club. It is brilliant for the big man – 3 goals tonight, he is on fire right now and long may that continue; hopefully he can bang in a few on Sunday.”

Talking of Sunday’s crunch showdown at Dens Park with local rivals Dundee United, the Dark Blue’s number 14 told Tay FM:

We, obviously, respect every team we are playing against, but, we need to focus on our strengths and our own game and hopefully things will take care of themselves. We have got momentum right now; the manager has been drilling a winning mentality into us and that is three wins out of three now. With the league campaign coming up, it would be the perfect way to start if if we can end the group with four wins out of four.”
