An interesting summer for Morton with the strengthening of their squad an intriguing proposition that Jim Duffy has put forward to the rest of the Championship.
Not too many first-team players were released in the summer that will impact Duffy requiring quality replacements. The laons expiring of Aidan Nesbitt and Jamie Lindsay is probably the largest gap to fill.
With the signings of Gary Harkins, Bob McHugh and Robert Thomson, as well as Jai Quitongo returning to fitness has saw the front-line of the Ton’s attack strengthened.
With Andy Murdoch remaining in the midfield, and Connor McManus coming in on loan from Celtic, the centre of the park also looks ready to go whereas, the defence looks the biggest issue this season. With Thomas O’Ware sttaying, it has given Jim Duffy a major boost with Mark Russell also signing on. If Duffy can sign another experienced centre-back, while getting Ricki Lamie, Lee Kilday and O’Ware back to fitness, I think the Ton can easily be up there challenging against this season for a play-off place.
